Tooth Extractions

In what cases may tooth extraction be necessary?

  • In cases where there has been severe material loss due to decay and it is not possible to restore and treat it,
  • In cases of unsuccessful root canal treatment,
  • In the presence of a lesion or cyst on the tooth root that cannot be treated
  • In teeth with excessive periodontal damage, bone resorption around them and therefore increased mobility,
  • In cases where excessive bending, reclining and side teeth are at risk for caries formation or use

Is tooth extraction a painful procedure?

Tooth extractions are definitely not painful procedures. Before the procedure, the relevant tooth is anesthetized locally with the help of anesthesia. For this reason, the patient can only feel the pressure of the extraction tools during tooth extraction, but does not feel pain. It is normal to feel some pain after the extraction procedure as the anesthesia wears off. From time to time, depending on the difficulty of the extraction, swelling may be observed in the area.
