Implant Application

Thanks to the developing technology, Implants, usually made of titanium material, have been produced in the form of screws that imitate the anatomy of the tooth root, to be applied only to the missing tooth area, without damaging the surrounding teeth.

Thanks to these implants, which are applied under local anesthesia with a simple surgical procedure, the exact tooth structure in the missing tooth areas is imitated. If the bone and gum tissue in the area to be applied is suitable, the procedure takes 10 minutes in total. It is expected that patients will not experience any problems after this surgical procedure, which is performed with the appropriate technique and correct equipment.

Implant application can be applied to any adult whose general health condition is under control. It is very important to keep the area clean and hygienic to avoid infection after the implant application.

In our clinic, premium quality certified implant application is performed by our specialist physician with the latest technological equipment.

Is there pain during implant application?

Local anesthesia is applied to the area where the implant will be applied before the procedure and there is absolutely no pain during the procedure. Contrary to popular belief, in implant treatment, which has become much easier and application methods have been improved today, the application ends without the patient even realizing that the procedure has been performed. Unless there is a complicated situation, the procedure usually takes between 10-30 minutes.

What are the implant brands? What does it vary depending on?

There are dozens of different implant brands used today. Implants originating from various countries vary depending on their brands, surface features and materials.

High-quality NOBEL BIOCARE brand implants, which are one of the most well-known and first applied implants in the world, are applied in our clinic.

What is the process after implant placement?

After the implant is placed, it is usually completely covered with gum. The implant and jawbone are expected to integrate with each other for 2-3 months. The fusing of the bone with the implant during this waiting period is called ‘osteointegration’. After fusion is completed, the gum is opened and a ‘healing cap’ is placed on the implant and a digital impression is taken for the dental crown. The dental crown on the implant is produced in about a week and is easily placed in place by screwing.

What should be taken into consideration on the day of implant application?

  • Mouth rinsing and spitting should not be done on the same day after the application.
  • No smoking for 1 week
  • Grainy foods should be avoided for 1 week.
  • The area where the implant is applied must be kept clean.
  • It should not be touched with a hard object.
  • Medicines prescribed by the doctor should be used regularly

After implant application, the implant is expected to fuse with the bone for 2-3 months. At the end of this period, the crown-on-implant phase begins. After a digital measurement is taken for the implant-supported crown, your tooth will be ready within 1 week.

To see whether the jawbone is suitable for the implant, dental tomography is taken and the tomography is evaluated by the specialist physician. If needed for an implant, a bone graft can be added to the jawbone.

Nowadays, with the developing technology, implants that imitate real teeth are very popular. It is generally preferred to place the implant only in the jawbone without causing any damage to the healthy teeth around the tooth cavity. In the past, bridges, which were the more traditional method, were made to close tooth gaps, but such applications are only possible by minimizing and covering the healthy teeth on the side.
