Bone Graft Application

Bone grafting is the placement of bone powder taken from the person’s own self or animal origin, into the insufficient bone area during implant placement.

In what cases is bone grafting applied?

  • Insufficient bone in the missing tooth area after a long time ago tooth extraction,
  • Trauma,
  • Bone loss after periodontal problems and infections
  • During the sinus lifting operation performed in cases where the sinus sags downwards

Sometimes bone graft can be added simultaneously during the implant operation, but in cases of advanced bone loss, bone powder is added through various surgical methods and the bone graft is expected to fuse with the applied area for about 3-5 months. Once the desired level of bone is obtained, implant treatment is applied.
